EVA surface preparation, printing and coating
Start with the component and the operation: a printed graphic, a coated midsole or a bonded assembly. Describe whether the EVA surface is moulded, roughened or already finished, and whether your line has a UV treatment process.
| Product | Treatment category | Selection condition |
|---|---|---|
| SQ-341 | General EVA treatment | Used after roughening EVA. Confirm the preparation method and any specified compatible hardener. |
| SQ-342 | Two-component EVA treatment | Used with a hardener. Review yellowing requirements for light-coloured materials. |
| SQ-343UV | UV treatment | Listed for EVA, MD and IP sole materials. Requires a suitable UV treatment process. |
| SQ-352UV | Immersion UV treatment | An immersion treatment category for EVA, MD and IP sole materials. Confirm equipment and process suitability. |
| SQ-778 | Water-based UV treatment | A separate water-based UV treatment for EVA, MD and IP materials. |
Choose the finish after the preparation route
EVA printing ink and EVA coating are separate product categories. For a printed design, describe the artwork and print process. For a coating, describe the required colour and gloss, application method and the complete component.
For bonding, also identify the second material. A coating trial does not confirm the performance of the finished adhesive joint.
Application questions
Can I replace a roughening treatment with a UV treatment?
Do not substitute by product name alone. These treatment categories have different preparation and equipment requirements. Review the route with the technical team before changing production.
What should I mention for a light-coloured EVA component?
State the material colour and yellowing requirement, together with the treatment, hardener and finish you plan to use. Evaluate the complete combination on the actual component.
