Footwear primers for EVA, TPU, rubber and nylon
Start with the material surface and the next production step: screen printing, coating or adhesive bonding. The treatment agent must work with both the substrate and the layer applied over it.
| Material | Trial candidates | Selection points |
|---|---|---|
| TPU | SQ-31 | Confirm the surface finish and the ink, coating or adhesive used next. |
| PU / PVC | SQ-301 / SQ-302 / SQ-33 | SQ-301 is a PU treatment, SQ-302 a PVC treatment, and SQ-33 an enhanced PU/PVC treatment. Select for the actual material. |
| EVA | SQ-341 / SQ-342 | SQ-341 is used after roughening. SQ-342 is a two-component treatment used with hardener; review yellowing on light-coloured materials. |
| Rubber | SQ-333 / SQ-335 | SQ-333 and SQ-335 address light- and dark-coloured rubber respectively. Confirm the additional component and cleaning procedure for the selected grade. |
| TPR | SQ-331 / SQ-338 | Two-component and one-component options respectively. Material colour and composition affect selection. |
| Nylon / nylon mesh | SQ-360 / SQ-361 / SQ-363 | Review yarn and surface treatment. SQ-363 includes nylon mesh applications. SQ-362 is listed for special carbon-fibre materials and needs separate review. |
EVA UV and water-based treatment routes
SQ-343UV and SQ-352UV are separate EVA/MD/IP UV treatment products; SQ-352UV is a dipping route. SQ-778 is a water-based UV treatment for EVA/MD/IP. Confirm your equipment and the approved process before selecting a UV grade.
Other water-based options include SQ-731 for PU/EVA/MD/IP, SQ-776 for rubber and SQ-779 for selected leather materials. Request the current TDS and SDS for the exact grade and intended application.

What to send for primer selection
- Surface: material, colour, finish and any release agent or existing coating.
- Process: cleaning, roughening or UV equipment, followed by the ink, coating or adhesive you plan to use.
- Problem: where peeling or separation occurs, when it appears and the test requirement.
- Trial: a material offcut and a finished sample, with the current product sequence.
Common primer questions
Can a cleaner replace a primer?
Cleaning and surface treatment serve different stages. Confirm which steps your material needs and test adhesion with the proposed ink, coating or adhesive.
Can one EVA primer cover every production line?
No. Roughening, UV equipment, component requirements and material colour distinguish the available routes. Provide these details before requesting a trial grade.
How do I request a quotation for delivery to India?
Include your material and process, the selected grade if known, trial or production quantity, and delivery city and PIN code. Our China-based factory team will confirm sample arrangements, packaging, lead time and delivery terms in the quotation.
Request a primer sample or TDS / SDS
You can enquire before choosing a model. Tell us the material and whether you are printing, coating or bonding so the team can review a trial candidate.
