Footwear Materials & Chemical Workflows

Find a footwear chemistry route by TPU, PU leather, EVA, rubber, mesh or nylon, then prepare an application-specific trial.

MATERIAL GUIDE

TPU

TPU can appear as film, a moulded component or a yarn-related construction. Those forms should not be grouped into one guaranteed recipe. The source includes a special-substrate low-temperature failure case that makes testing particularly important.

MATERIAL GUIDE

PU leather

PU leather has a finish layer as well as a backing. A description of the backing alone can miss the surface that receives the ink. Send the actual material and state whether printing is followed by forming, topcoating or bonding.

MATERIAL GUIDE

EVA

An EVA midsole coating and a small printed graphic are different process enquiries. Specify the component, its finish and the equipment available for pretreatment. A UV-treatment route should not be assumed for a line that does not use that process.

MATERIAL GUIDE

Rubber

Distinguish rubber from TPR and provide the actual component. The factory catalogue separates rubber treatment and TPR treatment, and it also distinguishes printing ink from spray-coating products. Those distinctions prevent misleading cross-category recommendations.

Polyester mesh

Open mesh structure and special finishes change the printing problem. The source separates ordinary mesh from water-repellent and anti-wicking materials. It also records pinhole, bubble and dye-migration cases, so first-layer deposition and material colourfastness belong in the discussion.

Nylon

A water-repellent nylon and an untreated woven fabric should not receive an automatic shared recipe. The source includes several nylon-related basecoat and treatment routes. Send the fabric finish specification or a sample so the trial can start with the correct interface.

One material name is only the starting point

Surface finish, construction and subsequent processes can change the selection. These guides distinguish what the factory source supports from what requires a sample evaluation. Additional PVC, synthetic-leather and other material topics can be discussed with the team while detailed guides are developed.

Evaluate it on your own material

Send the material type, surface finish, current process and required test. Our technical team can help identify a trial candidate and the appropriate TDS / SDS.
